Fancy Outrunning Research? Maybe Peptides are the Answer.
We're not really into peptides round here, beyond the interest we have in any health and wellness area. Which we'll admit is probably more than most, but... it feels like we can't escape them at the moment.
So we’ve been reading.
One of the better recent articles we've read is The New Yorker’s recent piece on the peptide boom. It takes a measured view of a category that is moving much faster in culture than it is in research. Recent reporting suggests the FDA is reviewing restrictions (RFK wants a lot less) on some peptides this summer, which only adds to the attention around them.
Our view is pretty simple: interest is not evidence.
Some peptides may eventually prove useful in specific settings. But right now, Our main takeaway is that even if you're fitness and health focused, running ahead of research might not get you the health outcomes you're expecting. That matters if your goal is better health, not just newer inputs.
We'll keep reading and posting so you can decide for yourself.
