The Current State of Body Scans
If you have a passing interest in health and the evolution of tech then you're probably aware of the concept of full body scanning.
There seems to be 2 fundamental types:
One is a high res image of your skin surface that, over time, will track changes in mole formation or any other kind of surface changes.
The other is a full body MRI scan that essentially slices you into thousands of parallel planes of cross sectional images. The end result being a kind of 3D x-ray, of sorts. The MRI will find and track any internal lumps, bumps or unidentified growths.
If you've been tracking this you'll probably also be aware that there's no real consensus on whether knowing about every little abnormality in your body is actually a good thing.
This article in GQ, who've gone in pretty hard on wellness in the past couple of years, is a pretty good overview of the current body scan landscape in the UK. Worth a read as it's written by someone with an interest in health rather than a scientist or longevity bro.
Our jury is still out on the point at which information becomes too-much-information.
